Divyastra

Divyastra

There were many divine weapons used in the great war at Kurukshetra. Almost all the maharathis fighting on the battlefield of Kurukshetra were well versed in the usage of many of these weapons.

For the purpose of the Ranbhoomi board game, we have divided these weapons into three categories.

    • Level 1 weapons are the weapons belonging to the three Gods Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh, and these are the most destructive among all the divine weapons. These weapons were the most difficult to acquire and were rarely used during the course of battle because of their tendency to cause collateral damage.
    • Level 2 weapons are the weapons belonging to the thirty gods like Indra, Vayu, Varuna, Agni etc. These weapons are highly effective in battle and were used by many warriors during the course of Kurukshetra war. Aindrastra, Varunastra, Vayavyastra, Agneyastra etc were known to almost all the Maharathis and Atirathis fighting in the great war.
    • Level 3 weapons are the weapons belonging to Gandharva, Naga, Rakshasa etc. The effects produced by these weapons were usually magical in nature and they were often non-fatal and were used to slow down or confuse the opponents. Almost all the warriors fighting in the Mahabharat war had the knowledge of many of these weapons.
